Venue
Most sessions throughout ScienceWriters2023 will be held at the University of Colorado Boulder using conference facilities at Folsom Field, with plenary events on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the nearby University Memorial Center. On Sunday, Oct. 8, conference attendees will have the opportunity to visit the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus during a split day between the two campuses. While at the Anschutz Medical Campus, all sessions will take place at the Anschutz Health Sciences Building.
Accommodations
September 8 Update: Please note that our conference rate rooms at Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn, plus Boulder Marriott and the Residence Inn Boulder Canyon Boulevard, are all now full. A few conference rate rooms are still available at the Hyatt Place Boulder on select nights. The discounted rate ends today, September 8.
We have added a sixth discounted hotel option at the HomeWood Suites. Details and a link to book are below.
The main conference hotels will be the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boulder and Hilton Garden Inn Boulder, which are next door to each other. There is also a room block directly across the street from the Hilton hotels at the Boulder Marriott and Residence Inn Boulder Canyon Boulevard. We have also added an additional block at the Hyatt Place Boulder, which is approximately one mile away from the other accommodations and another block at the Homewood Suites which is farther out.

Traveling to Colorado
By air
Denver International Airport, the closest and highly recommended airport, is located roughly 42 miles southeast of Boulder. Colorado Springs Airport in Colorado Springs, CO., is a two-hour drive from Boulder.
RTD buses (this is the public transportation option), car rentals, taxis and ride-app services (Lyft & Uber) are all available at Denver International Airport to get from the airport to your final destination in Boulder. We’ve also partnered with EightBlack Airport Shuttle from the Denver International Airport for additional transportation needs.
We encourage all attendees to take advantage of carrier policies that allow for cancellations and changes should illness, exposure, or other concerns prevent your travel.
By car
If you are local or are choosing to drive to the event, we recommend driving to the main conference hotels (Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn) and parking in their parking garage. You can then take the provided transportation to and from the event. Parking rates at the hotel block are as follows:

There is also street parking available surrounding the main conference hotels which you can pay for onsite or via ParkMobile. Prices and availability vary per zone.

Getting around Anschutz
For locals driving themselves directly to #AnschutzSunday, self-parking is available at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. The Vail Parking Lot, located directly behind the Anschutz Health Sciences Building on 19th Street, is free to park in throughout the day on Sunday.
